UTS Community Forum Q&A and Recording
Navigating the Changing Landscape of Adolescence

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online for the UTS Community Forum for the important discussion about the challenges UTS students are facing, as high-achieving students and as young people in our world today. It was enlightening to connect firsthand and also to hear your questions, concerns and ideas, which are extremely helpful in helping to shape our school programs.

For your reference, and for those of you who were unable to attend, links to the Q&A and recording are provided below.

We believe a strong partnership between schools and families can enhance the educational experience for your children, and invite you to continue the conversation. We plan to make the Parent and Guardian Community Forum a regular event for the 2025-26 school year, with one planned for the fall and the spring.

You are also invited to learn more about challenges and opportunities for your students at the Shifting the Success Paradigm in an AI World: Navigating New Paths to Academic Success on June 2 at 6:30 p.m, a UTS event with guest speakers: University of Toronto Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, Digital Strategies Susan McCahan, and Ontario Institute for Studies in Education Associate Professor Steven Katz.

S6 Postsecondary Destinations/Updates

S6 students were asked to submit their final postsecondary destinations to their Guidance Counsellor by Monday, May 26 and we would appreciate your support in encouraging your child to meet this important deadline. Students can find the necessary information on the S6 Guidance Google Classroom.

UTS Music Instrument Return Date
June 6

It has been an incredible year of music-making filled with countless hours of group rehearsal and individual practice. We ask that all UTS-owned or rented instruments be brought back to school on June 6 no later than 4 p.m., for inventory maintenance.

The one exception are students who play the double bass, AND have selected music as a course for next year. Double bass players who are not taking a UTS music course in September must return their instrument by June 6.

Students who would like to sign-out an instrument for summer practice may do so after the final assembly on June 18, or at another pre-arranged time with their teacher.

SchoolCash Online Ending May 30

We are making the move to a new billing system for the next school year to streamline, improve and simplify your payments for things like tickets and excursions.

This means that there will be no transactions handled through SchoolCash Online as of May 30.

Please ensure that all outstanding charges you may have in your SchoolCash Online accounts are paid by May 30.

Full instructions for the new billing portal for the upcoming school year will be shared well in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
