June Exam and Summative Schedules
Please review the final exam and summative schedules carefully with your child.
All exams must be written to receive credit for the course. These evaluations constitute 30% of the final grade.
Students may only miss an exam due to illness, with a doctor’s note confirming they were unable to write. Vacations or other commitments are not valid reasons to miss an exam.

Measles Update
Measles is on the rise in Canada and the Greater Toronto Area. Cases have been linked with increased travel and the reduced uptake of the measles vaccine.
Symptoms can include
Fever
Runny nose
Red eyes
Cough
Red rash which starts on the face and spreads down the body
Small blue-white spots can appear on the inside of the mouth and throat
If you or your family member is experiencing a rash and fever, speak to your health care provider before you seek out care about testing. To learn more about measles and how to protect yourself/others, click here.

Foundation Vaccination Clinic
Tuesday, April 22
Toronto Public Health will be returning to UTS on Tuesday, April 22 to complete the vaccination series for Hepatitis B and HPV vaccinations for F1 students, as well as F2s who have outstanding school vaccinations. In order to be considered complete, another injection is required for both Hepatitis B and HPV six months after the initial doses (for a total of two doses each). Meningococcal vaccination requires only 1 dose. Nothing is required from your end at present.
If your child missed the first round of vaccinations in October 2024, and you would like them to start their series at UTS, please complete this consent form. Completed consent forms can be returned to the Main Office. Hard copies are also available at the Main Office for pick-up.
If you are unsure which vaccines your child has received to date, you can use this portal. You will require your child’s Health Card information. If the portal is not working, email immunization@toronto.ca to request the vaccination records directly.
For questions, reach out to the school nurse at adi.sood@utschools.ca.
Students: Check Lost and Found for Missing Items
Tables are set up in the L1 elevator lobby by the security desk. An assortment of water bottles, lunch bags, winter hats, pencil cases, clothing and miscellaneous items are out for display. Items not retrieved at the end of school days on April 22, May 20 and June 18 will be collected and donated to charity.
Student Vote Canada
Monday, April 28
We are excited to share that on Monday, April 28, UTS will be hosting student elections through Student Vote Canada. This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for students across F1 to S6 to engage in the democratic process and experience elections firsthand.
Student Vote is a program developed in 2003 by CIVIX, an organization dedicated to civic education. Through this program, students will learn about democracy, government, and the role of elected representatives, helping them become informed and responsible citizens. Before election day, they explore these topics in an assembly (which took place today), as well as a lunch and learn focused on how to register to vote in this election or future elections if eligible.
On election day, student volunteers will take on the roles of election workers, assisting in organizing and running the voting process under staff supervision. This hands-on experience encourages civic engagement and builds the habits of active citizenship. Once all ballots are cast, the school, along with hundreds of thousands of student voters across Canada, will tally the votes.
