Navigating the Changing Landscape of Adolescence:
Implications for UTS and Families
May 15
6 to 7:15 p.m.
In-person and online
Join UTS Principal Dr. Leanne Foster for a compassionate and timely conversation about a growing challenge facing today’s youth. Across North America and across all types of school systems, students are showing similar patterns: more frequent absenteeism, increased feelings of isolation, reduced social engagement and a declining connection to school spirit and community life.
What’s driving these shifts? Is it the lingering impact of the pandemic? The pervasive influence of social media? Or are there other factors at play? Together, we’ll explore what’s happening, why it matters and how we can respond.
This event offers a space for families to come together, share concerns and reaffirm our shared commitment to supporting our children in leading vibrant, connected and meaningful school lives.
A Q&A session will follow the conversation and allow for discussion of school-wide topics.
PowerSchool
This week, there has been additional news regarding the data breech that took place in December 2024 with PowerSchool with some Canadian school boards affected. Our systems remain secure and unaffected; however, we continue to monitor the situation closely.
