Due Friday, October 31

Bursary applications for the 2026–27 school year are now open on Apple Financial Services.  All returning families who wish to be considered for bursary support next year must submit an application, including those who are already receiving financial aid.

Families who are not currently receiving assistance but would like to apply are also welcome to do so. UTS is committed to supporting our existing students and families, recognizing that financial circumstances may change over time.

We encourage all returning families who wish to apply for bursary consideration to complete their application as soon as possible. Applications are due by October 31 to allow bursary decisions to be made ahead of January re-enrollment.

What’s been happening at UTS recently….

UTS Junior and Senior Strings perform the world premiere of pinâskiw

We were deeply honoured to host the world premiere of pinâskiw (“The Season of Falling Leaves”), commissioned by UTS from Juno-nominated cellist and composer Cris Derksen. Cris hails from Treaty 8 territory in Northern Alberta, with lineage from the North Tallcree Reserve on her father’s side and Mennonite homesteaders on her mother’s.
The world premiere was performed by UTS Junior Strings and Senior Strings, directed by Lyris Pat and Sarah Shugarman, and conducted by Sarah Shugarman. pinâskiw called us to reflect on cycles of renewal, hope in dark times and the shared responsibility we hold for shaping a more just and compassionate future.

Fulford Debate Results

On September 27 the UTS Debate Team travelled to Oakville to compete in the Fulford Early Bird Competition. We are very proud, and a huge congratulations to S6 Jacob for placing fourth as an individual speaker. Congratulations also goes to the M4 team of Isabelle and Kevin for placing third in the Junior category as a team. S6 Jacob and S5 Edlyn also placed third as the Senior team.
