House Track Day

On Wednesday, October 9, all students will participate in the annual House Track event at Varsity Centre Stadium from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Students will be escorted to the stadium by their Period 5 teachers (Block F). Students will be dismissed directly from Varsity Stadium following the event around 3:30 p.m. 

Dismissal Location: Varsity Stadium (299 Bloor Street West)

Pick-Up: If you're picking up your child, please arrange to do so on Devonshire Street or the closest street(s).

Subway Access: Students can board at St. George subway station following the event.

Respiratory Illness Awareness

With fall comes respiratory illnesses. The following are some of the ways that you and your children can help protect our school community.

  • Students should stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of illness. Symptoms may include sore throat, stuffy nose, headache, tiredness, fatigue. See this letter from Toronto District School Board for more information. 

  • Wash or sanitize your hands often, and cover your cough/sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.

  • Consider wearing a well-fitted, high-quality mask in crowded areas with poor ventilation, especially for those who are at higher risk of severe illness.

  • Consider getting your COVID-19 boosters and influenza vaccine once available.


Coffee Mornings at UTS for Parents and Guardians
October 8, 16 and 17 from 8 to 9 a.m.

UTS hosts Dr. Paul Gorski, celebrated author and educator, to share on how to build transformative equity in schools.

Reminder - School Vaccination clinic for F1 students
Consent forms due Friday, October 4
Vaccination Clinic is Thursday, October 17

Toronto Public Health will be on site at UTS on October 17 to provide school vaccinations to F1 students.

If you have not yet returned the consent form please have them to the main office by Friday October 4th (tomorrow). Consent forms need to be completed even if your student is not receiving their vaccination at this clinic.

M4 Washington Parent/Guardian Meeting
October 7 at 6 p.m.

Parents and guardians of those students attending the M4 Washington trip will receive an calendar invite next week for the October 7 virtual meeting regarding the upcoming trip to discuss:

  • Final trip itinerary

  • Overnight Code of Conduct

  • Hotel accommodations 

  • Other important information

There will also be an opportunity for questions. A recording of the meeting will be sent out the morning of October 8 for those unable to make it.

Also, parents and guardians need to fill out the Consent Letter for Children Travelling Abroad and return a hard copy to the main office by the end of day on October 11. As per the Government of Canada, a notarization is recommended but not required.
