Core Agreements and Contact Verification
Deadline August 28

As we prepare for the year, we need to verify your family’s contact information and ensure that you have read and agreed to our important school policies, the UTS Core Agreements.

All families must confirm contact information and review UTS Core Agreements in MyUTS by Thursday, August 28 in order to receive student timetables on Friday, August 29.

Student timetables are shared directly to students’ Google Calendars. Student timetables will only be shared with a student if all UTS Core Agreements and contact confirmation is completed in MyUTS by August 28. This will ensure you have important information required to start the year successfully.

Please complete all UTS Core Agreements and contact verification in MyUTS by Thursday, August 28.

Final Course Selections for 2025-26
Email link to be sent Monday, August 18
Request deadline: Monday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

Students’ current course selections can be viewed in MyUTS. There will be one final opportunity to request changes to these selections.

On Monday, August 18, students will receive an email with a link to the course change request form. The deadline to submit a request is Monday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

This course change period is intended to address extenuating circumstances, such as a shift in academic goals following a summer program. Please note that not all requests can be accommodated due to timetable constraints. Some course sections may be full, or requested changes may create scheduling conflicts that cannot be resolved. As guidance counsellors are off during this period, please direct any questions to Dr. Nancy Dawe, Dean of Students, at nancy.dawe@utschools.ca.

UTS Important Dates and Closures Information for 2025-26

UTS Important Dates and Closures 2025-26 is a document that summarizes the list of 2025-26 dates when UTS is closed, when students have no classes or when there is a special schedule, such as a student late start day, when students should plan to be at school later than on regular school days. This document includes updates to the Preliminary UTS Important Dates and Closures shared with families in April.

Exciting Opportunity: Will You Be a Host Family?
Registration deadline: Friday, August 15
Homestay dates: Tuesday, September 30 to Monday, October 6

Welcoming Danish students to UTS last fall.

Registration is open for current M3 to S5 families to host a visiting Danish student as part of our Global Citizenship Program. This long-standing program has had tremendously positive impacts for students and families on both sides of the Atlantic!

Our families are what make our international partnerships possible. Our guests will be participating in a number of activities at school during their stay, including the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation assembly, a drama workshop and performance, and visits to Canadian and World Studies classrooms.

Contact Richard Cook  at racook@utschools.ca with any questions.

Save the Date for Curriculum Night
September 16

Curriculum Night, where families can learn what teachers have planned for the year in their child’s courses, is scheduled for the evening of September 16.

U.S. Travel Update

After thoughtful consideration and consultation with several other CAIS-accredited schools, UTS has decided to pause grade trips to the U.S. for the 2025-26 school year. This decision reflects our commitment to the well-being of students and staff, in light of increased concerns about the possibility of negative experiences while travelling.

That said, we recognize the value of U.S.-based competitions and will continue to support student participation in these opportunities on a case-by-case basis. Whenever travel to the U.S. is approved, we will implement enhanced safety protocols and provide comprehensive preparation to support all participants.

Planning is well underway for meaningful grade trips within Canada for M4 students and to the U.K. for S6 students. M4 families have received an email to register for the Montreal trip planned for October 15 to 17.  We look forward to sharing more details about the S6 trip as plans develop.

If you have any questions, please contact Garry Kollins, Vice Principal of Student Life at gkollins@utschools.ca

School Lunch Survey

We are reaching out to gather valuable feedback about our two school lunch providers.

We would like to hear from ALL parents ‒ whether you regularly order school lunches from either provider, occasionally use the service, pack lunches from home, have your children buy lunch at a neighbourhood establishment or have never used our lunch providers. Your perspective is important to us and your honest feedback will directly influence how we work with our providers to enhance the lunch experience for all students.

This is a brief, confidential survey that will be shared with our lunch providers to help guide improvements for the upcoming academic school year.

The survey will remain open until August 15. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
