Respiratory illness awareness

Respiratory illnesses are on the rise. The following are some of the ways that students can help protect our school community:

  • Stay home if students are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Symptoms may include fever or chills, shortness of breath, cough, amongst others. See the letter from Toronto Public Health for more information.

  • Wash or sanitize your hands often, and cover your cough/sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.

  • Consider wearing a well-fitted, high-quality mask in crowded areas with poor ventilation, especially for those who are at higher risk of severe illness.

  • Consider getting your COVID-19 boosters and Influenza vaccine.

Volunteers wanted to Judge DECA Ontario Competition

On February 7, nearly 60 UTS students will be participating in DECA Provincials at the Toronto Sheraton Centre. As part of our participation, UTS is asked by DECA Ontario to recruit at least three industry professionals to volunteer as judges. More information about what is required of judges can be found at https://deca.ca/ by clicking on Judges’ Details Informational Letter.

If you are interested in volunteering as a judge, we would truly appreciate your support. To confirm your participation, please reach out to either Kelly Marcella or Rebecca Courtney by Friday, January 31.

Thank you for supporting this wonderful business learning opportunity for our students!

We will work with students individually to provide support.

If your student cannot attend the upcoming Outdoor Education Programs (for example, due to an unchangeable medical appointment), please email studentlife@utschools.ca or indicate ‘No’ on the consent form. A reminder that there will be no F1, F2 or S6 classes running during the program.
